North began in 2015 with a single brief: an album sleeve for a friend's first record. Eleven years on, the studio is still independent, still small, and still picky — by design. A handful of commissions a season, each given the full weight of the practice.
The work spans editorial illustration, brand identity, and image-making for fashion, music, and cultural institutions. The constants: a clear point of view, a high bar for execution, and the discipline to keep both.

Conversation
Every project starts with a real conversation — not a brief, not a deck. What's the work for, who's it speaking to, and why now?
Research
Reading, looking, gathering. Sketchbooks fill before the first pixel moves. Strong work is built on real attention, not stock references.
Drafting
Three to five distinct directions, presented honestly. The studio shares the thinking behind each — including the one it would push hardest, and why.
Refinement
A direction is chosen and lived with. Type set, color tuned, layouts tightened. Most of the work happens here, in the millimeters most clients never see.
Delivery
Files, guides, and handoff. The studio stays available afterward — most projects need a second pass once they're alive in the world, and the studio doesn't disappear when the invoice clears.
